Boom Beach - Frequently Asked Questions

Boom Beach is currently only available in a few selected regions and App Stores. This allows us to limit load on the server and make sure that everything works as intended (both technical and game design wise). So far the reception has been awesome and we haven't encountered any major problems, but we'd rather be safe than sorry.

When will Boom Beach be released globally?
The short answer is "when it's ready" We still want to polish the game before global launch, to ensure that the quality is top notch throughout.

Boom Beach will only support iOS 7.0 and up
. It's a decision we've already made. Actually, we cannot even change the version requirement after the initial version has been published in the App Store.

As you probably know, iOS 7 dropped support for some older devices with weaker performance. Making the minimum requirement iOS 7 allows us to better optimize the game because of a smaller set of supported devices. We can push the game further technically without having to make compromises for older hardware. We believe this will pay off in the years to come!

    Matchmaking
You get new player opponents, referred to as Blackguard mercenaries in game, when exploring the map and as occasional invasions on your map. Your opponents are selected by a matchmaking process that attempts to give you the right level of challenge.

Your opponents are selected from players with a similar matchmaking score. Every time you get a new Mercenary base on your map, either through exploration or invasion, your matchmaking score increases. Using 'Find new opponent', Headquarters level, experience level or Victory Points have no effect on your matchmaking score.

Matchmaking score will gradually decrease over time if you have several player opponents on your map. Therefore, if you are regularly matched with opponents you cannot beat, you will eventually get easier opponents. Only active players' matchmaking score is adjusted down, so leaving the game for a long period of time won't result in the game getting too easy.

Any "around" time? Because the Aussies need a bite out of the booming beach. Don't leave us behind!

yes, if it is the case that the players In the regions where you can already play BB get to keep there progress when the game goes live internationally they will have a missive advantage, is this fair? imo it's not although I don't blame the players and would do the same myself SC can you confirm?
Never violate a woman, nor harm a child. Do not lie, deceive or steal. These things are for lesser men. Protect the weak against the evil strong. And never allow thoughts of gain to lead you into the pursuit of evil.

Of course, current players get to keep going - in the Canadian App store, BB is like any other Apps, nowhere did it say beta or just for testing. So obviously current players can keep there progress, just like CoC when it was introduced.

And new players will be matched up to other new players, so don't worry about being disadvantaged.

As for the top players, SC has not introduced new HQ levels for a while, so everyone has a chance to catch up.
